Meet The Coaches

Jason Grant
Jason founded the TRS Track Club in 2009 to provide an opportunity for kids to discover the life lessons that can be learned through the sport of Track & Field. In track, there is no scoreboard that determines whether you win. There is only a measurement of time or distance that tells you immediately whether you improved. The work you put in is readily apparent on the track. Whether you finish at the front of the race or the end makes little difference. You can take pride in having accomplished your own personal record (PR), which tells you that the hard work is paying off.

Jason is a graduate from the University of Maryland where he was a letter-winner in track and field. He competed in the 400 hurdles, the 400 meter dash and the mile relay. He has coached several national elite youth runners, high school athletes and collegiate athletes in cross country, distance, mid-distance, hurdles, high jump, long jump, triple jump, and sprints. However, Jason loves working with runners of all ages and abilities. Some of his proudest moments have been witnessing those kids, regardless of their natural talents, accomplish goals that they did not believe were attainable…to run an 8:00 mile for the first time...to finish a cross country race without walking...to run the hurdles fearlessly…the pride you can see in their eyes is the greatest feeling as a coach. Jason resides in Bristow, Virginia with his wife, Lisa, and children: Damian, Karina, Ariana, and Jameson.
